Are you struggling to follow the principles of Intuitive Eating during Covid-19?
You are certainly not alone in that.
It’s always so much fun to go on podcasts and talk about eating disorder recovery and Intuitive Eating. When Alison Barkman invited me on her Speaking of Hungry podcast, of course I said yes and then…. COVID happened and we cancelled.
Fast forward a few weeks and both of us realized that we were going to be home for awhile AND clients really need to hear our message. We decided to record anyway and talk about intuitive eating during Covid-19 and eating disorder recovery and what that looks like right now. We both had kids at home (thank goodness for editing!), but the show turned out great!
You can listen to the show here (or listen where ever you listen to podcasts by searching for Speaking of Hungry)
Our main focus of the podcast was an article written by Carrie Dennet in the Seattle Times: Why Willpower is NOT the Antidote to Binge Eating Disorder and I’m so honored to be quoted! Carrie discusses why so many people feel the need to “diet” to “control binge eating”, when in fact, dieting is only making binge eating worse.
If you are needing more support right now, check out other podcasts I’ve been on over at the media page for Pursuing Private Practice. I love to go on shows that are in the Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size space! If you like hearing about private practice and business-related topics, you will find many business podcast interviews there too.
Do you have a favorite podcast? If so, tell me!! I love spreading the word about helpful podcasts for eating disorder recovery, Intuitive Eating, and body positivity to clients and dietitians that I supervise.
If you’re looking for more support right now with Intuitive Eating, Eat With Knowledge has a new FREE Intuitive Eating guide available! Many people have told us how helpful this guide has been and we love giving this out as a resource!
